WORLD ARTS ORGANIZATION
Our Vision
World Arts Organization - WAO believes that art-making and the contemplative reflection upon the creative act enable a more profound coming-together within a human being; that integrating a wide range of qualities and aptitudes produces balance and an ongoing, developing experience of wholeness.
WAO's criteria for the healthy human being includes a palpable vitality that comes from the nurture found in increasing this congruence in which a quality such as joy returns or is perhaps experienced for the first time.
Spontaneity is a corner-stone of WAO's vision, as well as respect for the importance of play, which includes a love of the intimacy and intelligence that is required in the process of art-making. The profound goodness in wholesome activity infuses human beings with an unselfconscious sense of purpose and meaning. Grounding our hopes and aspirations in art-making increases our rootedness in this world.
WAO recognizes that there is great nourishment in giving form to what delights and inspires us. The surprise in the art-making process is how powerfully universal our most private struggles are. From this place of newness we can approach understanding our fellow human beings artfully if we take to heart our roles as artists of life. From there we can appreciate the natural connections that already exist between us and can create the new conscious connections yet to be made between us and in our communities.
